The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has announced the identification of the 10th victim recovered from Fox Hollow Farm in Westfield, Indiana, linked to suspected serial killer HERB BAUMEISTER. The remains have been confirmed as those of DANIEL THOMAS HALLORAN, born in 1972. While the exact date of his death remains unclear, officials suspect he was murdered decades ago.

Halloran’s identification marks a significant breakthrough in the decades-long investigation tied to Baumeister, who is believed to have killed at least 25 individuals. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office revealed that three additional DNA profiles recovered from the property remain unidentified.

CORAL HALLORAN, Daniel’s 32-year-old daughter, shared her emotional response to the news with WTHR. She expressed the profound impact of learning her father was an alleged victim of Baumeister, stating, “All my life, I kind of expected my dad to be around and one day hoping he’d come try to find me.” She added, “It makes me sick and weary to my stomach, having to know my dad was brutally murdered. It’s hard. And for all the other victims out there, their families, I’m with them. I’m praying hard for them.”

Baumeister, who owned the Sav-A-Lot shopping chain, is believed to have lured gay men to his 18-acre property between the 1980s and 1990s, where he allegedly murdered and buried them. Over 10,000 bone fragments and charred remains have been discovered at the site. Investigators believe Baumeister frequented gay bars in Indianapolis and exploited periods when his family was away to carry out his crimes.

In 1996, Baumeister took his own life in a Canadian park shortly after bone fragments were discovered on his property, prompting a full-scale investigation. Hamilton County Coroner JEFF JELLISON emphasized the importance of Halloran’s identification, stating, “This identification is a significant development in our ongoing efforts to provide answers to the families of those who went missing. We are grateful for the expertise of Othram and the advances in forensic science that made this possible.”

Recent revelations from an ABC News Studios documentary, *The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer*, suggest Baumeister may have filmed his victims using a hidden camera placed in a basement air vent. Retired Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Detective CARY MILLIGAN noted, “Something to relive… the murders. We’re looking through the bottom of the entertainment area… and we noticed this vent. … I was suspicious that if Herb was videotaping any activity that might have been going on. … That may have been a way that Herb could’ve gained power over the individuals that he was killing.”

Efforts to recover these alleged recordings have been unsuccessful, with Jellison stating it is unlikely they will ever be found.

The identification of Halloran’s remains was made possible through advanced DNA analysis by forensic laboratory Othram Inc., with support from the Indiana State Police, University of Indianapolis, Human Identification Center, and Marion County Coroner’s Office.
