**MILWAUKEE, Wis.** – **Judge Hannah Dugan** of the Milwaukee Circuit Court has been temporarily stripped of her judicial duties following her arrest for allegedly obstructing an immigration enforcement action. The **Wisconsin Supreme Court** issued an administrative order on Tuesday, suspending her authority as a circuit court judge until further notice.

The charges stem from allegations that **Judge Dugan** shielded a previously deported undocumented immigrant from **U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)** agents last week. According to a criminal complaint, she facilitated the evasion of arrest by assisting **Eduardo Flores-Ruiz**, a Mexican national facing misdemeanor battery charges, in bypassing ICE agents after a court appearance.

The court order explicitly bars **Judge Dugan** from exercising any judicial powers temporarily. Her caseload will be reassigned to other judges, and she is scheduled to appear in federal court on **May 15** to face charges of felony obstruction of a federal agency and aiding in the evasion of arrest.

The incident occurred on **April 18**, when **Flores-Ruiz** appeared in court related to charges of assaulting two individuals during separate altercations. Following the hearing, **Judge Dugan** reportedly escorted **Flores-Ruiz** and his attorney through a restricted jury exit, circumventing ICE agents stationed in the public area.

**Judge Dugan** has denied the allegations, refuting reports that she shielded an undocumented immigrant from ICE. Her attorney, **Craig Mastantuono**, stated that her arrest was not in the public’s interest and emphasized her commitment to due process.

The case has drawn criticism from legal experts and officials, including **Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi**, who condemned **Judge Dugan**’s actions during a televised interview. Bondi characterized the incident as a dangerous obstruction of justice, particularly given the violent misdemeanors involving **Flores-Ruiz**.

If convicted, **Judge Dugan** could face severe penalties under federal law. The case has sparked debates about the intersection of judicial authority and immigration enforcement.
