In a video from 2022 recently released, RICHARD ALLEN vehemently denied any involvement in the brutal murders of ABIGAIL ABBY WILLIAMS and LIBERTY LIBBY GERMAN. The teenagers, known as the Delphi Murder victims, were killed in 2017 while hiking on the High Monon Trail in Delphi, Indiana.
The footage, captured on October 13, 2022, and shared by YouTuber TOM WEBSTER to FOX NEWS DIGITAL, shows ALLEN speaking with investigators. He insisted he had no connection to the crime, stating, I’m not going to be someone’s fall guy. He urged authorities to ensure the integrity of their investigation, emphasizing his innocence and expressing frustration at being targeted.
ALLEN was initially questioned in 2017 after the murders but cleared temporarily due to a clerical error, as reported by journalist ‘NE CAINSTONY CAIN and attorney KEVIN MKEVIN GREENLEY GREENLEE, hosts of The Murder Sheet podcast. However, in 2022, evidence linked ALLEN to the crime scene, prompting his arrest. Investigators found a gun matching a bullet from the crime scene and a jacket similar to one seen in a video recorded shortly before the girls’ deaths.
During the interview, ALLEN expressed disbelief about the evidence and admitted he has difficulty understanding how items from his property appeared at the crime scene. In a separate video from October 26, 2022, ALLEN reiterated his denial while speaking to his wife, stating, I didn’t murder anyone. I didn’t help anyone murder anyone.”
At trial, prosecutors presented a crucial piece of evidence: a 43-second video recorded by LIBBY on her phone moments before her death. The video, known as the Bridge Guy footage, showed an individual in a blue utility jacket near the trail. Witnesses testified they spotted ALLEN on the trail around the same time the girls disappeared.
In his jailhouse confession, ALLEN admitted to ordering the teenagers—DOWN DOWN THE HILL but later claimed his alleged statements resulted from declining mental health. His attorneys argued that his confessions were coerced and unreliable. Despite his claims of innocence, ALLEN was convicted in December 2023 and sentenced to a maximum of 130 years behind bars for the murders of ABBY and LIBBY.
ALLEN’S arrest shocked Delphi, where he built relationships as a longtime CVS employee. His conviction marked the culmination of a nearly seven-year-long investigation by law enforcement and the Delphi grieving community assisting the families of the teenage victims.
