GLENDALE, Ariz. – A horrific shooting at a popular local restaurant on Sunday evening has left three people dead and five others injured, according to the Glendale Police Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the chaotic scene.
The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at **El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse**, where a large crowd had gathered for an event. OFFICER MORONI MENDEZ of the Glendale Police Department addressed reporters at the scene, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
“Obviously, there were a lot of people here attending some sort of event,” MENDEZ stated. “There are three deceased, so we want to ensure a complete and thorough investigation to do right by the victims.”
Police have yet to release details about the three individuals who lost their lives. The five injured victims reportedly sustained gunshot wounds or shrapnel injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but authorities believe multiple shooters may have been involved. As of now, no arrests have been made, though several individuals are being questioned.
“There are quite a few people detained, and we’re investigating whether they are suspects, victims, witnesses, or investigative leads,” MENDEZ explained.
Eyewitness LUPE RODRIGUEZ recounted the harrowing moments following the shooting to KPHO-TV. “There was a man on the ground, and it didn’t look like he made it,” RODRIGUEZ said. “His father – what I think is his father – was yelling out his name. It was pretty bad.”
The Glendale Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact them immediately as they continue their investigation.
